British Style Paneer steak with mashed potato and Sauce/Indian Twist

Hi, How are you, Folks? Today we thought to make a cuisine inspired by a foreign Dish. So, we chose to make British Style Paneer Steak.

It contains three small dishes in total namely, Paneer Steak, Buttery Mashed Potato, and Sauce. We named it "British Style Paneer steak with mashed potato and Sauce/Indian Twist".

So, the twist is mostly seen in Sauce. We added Curry Powder in it and mostly used Homemade Masalas in it to make the Dish homemade. The sauce, you see is very spicy rather than any other you see normally which mostly contains "Salt" as it's the main masala in it. We used Coriander Leaves mostly as it is the easiest available herb in India.

You can also use "Parsley" instead of "Coriander Leaves" as both are alternatives and both are very healthy as per nutrition is concerned.

British Style Paneer steak with mashed potato and Sauce with Indian Twist:

Ingredients:

For Curry Sauce:

UnsaltedButter: 2Tbsp.
Refined Flour(Maida): 1 Tbsp.
Curry Powder: 1 Tsp.
Vegetable Stock / Water: 1/2 Cup,
Salt: 1/2 Tsp.
Sugar: 1 Tsp.

For Mashed Potato:

Potatoes: 750g,
Unsalted Butter: 10 Tbsp.
Salt: To Taste,
Pepper: To Taste,
Coriander Leaves/ Parsley: 2 Tbsp.

For Paneer Steak:

Paneer blocks (2): 100g each,
Salt: To Taste,
Pepper: To Taste,
Lemon Juice: 1/2 Tsp.
Parsley/ Coriander Leaves: 1 Tbsp.
Oil: 2 Tsp.

For Steamed or Boiled Vegetables:

Cauliflower: 1 Cup,
Carrot: 1 Cup,
Beans: 1 Cup,
Broccoli: Optional,
Oil: 2 Tbsp.
Salt: To Taste,
Pepper: To Taste
Coriander Leaves: 1 Tbsp.

Instructions:

For Steamed and Sauteed Vegetables:

- Steam/ Boil all the vegetables mentioned above,
- Pour Oil in a pan, Saute the vegetables,
- Season with Salt and Pepper,
- Garnish with Coriander Leaves.

For Paneer Steak:

- Cut the Paneer (200g ) into 2 portions of equal size.
- Add the ingredients  mentioned above and mix them well,
- Apply over Paneer on all sides well and Leave aside for 15 mins.

- Heat a Non-Stick Pan and Brush it with Oil,
- Place the Paneer Blocks on it,
- Pour Oil around it,
- When the underside turns brown, flip the Paneer and cook the other sides,
- Cook well till all the sides of the Paneer becomes Brown as shown in the Video,

For Sauce:

- Melt the Butter in a Frying Pan,
- Add Flour, Cook, Stirring for 1 Minute or till it turns light brown in color,
- Add Vegetable Stock to the mixture, Stir Briskly,
- Add Curry Powder and cook for few seconds,
- Cook till the Stock thickens
- Add Salt and Sugar to it and cook for 1 - 2 mins and transfer it to a Cup or small serving Jar.

For Mashed Potato:

- Wash, Peal and Cut into four Long pieces,
- Put them into cold water, which should only be 1 inch above the potatoes,
- Add a little bit of Salt and boil for 20 - 25 minutes.
- Strain the Water, Mash the Potatoes,
- Add softened Butter, 1 Tablespoon at a time and Mix it well briskly,
- Then add Pepper and Salt to taste,
- Garnish with Coriander leaves or Parsley.
- Plate them as shown in the Video.

And the Tasty, Delicious, Finger-Licking "British Style Paneer steak with mashed potato and gravy with an Indian Twist" is ready.
